Continuing its long-standing relationship with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), Arena Group returned once again to service the 2014 Wimbledon Championships with its bespoke event infrastructure.
The annual tournament welcomes 38,500 spectators each day, with tennis fans enjoying a wide range of Arena Group’s seating, structures and interiors products, installed across the prestigious club.
From the 21 hospitality venues in Wimbledon’s famous green and white colours, to official’s changing rooms, experiential brand fan zones and retail outlets, Arena Structures experienced project manager David Moynes oversaw the installation. This included the main public catering restaurant ‘Baseline’, with an exterior viewing platform overlooking courts five and 10.
Interiors division Spaceworks and Well Dressed Tables delivered a range of exquisite designs, supplying indoor and outdoor furniture, tableware, and floral decorations from its extensive in-house inventory.
Arena Seating installed temporary seats across 9 courts in total custom green to ensure aesthetic continuity. This included 1,000 clearview™ seats on court 12, and a temporary grandstand that gave unparalleled views from the top of the iconic Murray Mound.
Terry Smith, project director at Arena Seating said: “We’re proud to work with such a progressive organisation as the AELTC. The Wimbledon Championships continue to innovate and upgrade their facilities with the latest equipment, and we work together to improve spectator experience each year.”
