Arena Seating created a courtroom themed temporary theatre auditorium for the English National Opera’s (ENO) production of Powder Her Face opera, April 2014

In line with its ambitions to explore innovative performing spaces in London, the ENO’s ‘Powder Her Face’ became the first opera performed within contemporary arts venue Ambika P3 in Marylebone. The intimate atmosphere of the venue and immersive nature of the performance required a temporary faux courtroom to be created for the audience seating.

Arena Seating worked closely with the organisers to design and install a bespoke solution integrating the central performance area. A custom designed scaffolding substructure with Arena Deck platform created 6.1m high and 5.6m high tiered seating grandstands with adjoining walkways. Structural integrity was married with high quality finish, as each row of upholstered Arena In-Style seats was clad with wooden panels to re-create the style and theme of a courtroom.
