Arena Group shortlisted as a finalist at this year’s Sport Business Awards 2022

We are pleased to announce that Arena Structures have been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Best Business Serving Sport’ category at this year’s Sports Business Awards.

Hosted on Friday 18th November 2022 at the Kia Oval, the Sports Business Awards recognise and reward the achievement of the teams behind the scenes that facilitate sporting excellence and endeavours.

Arena’s build at the 150th Open Championships in Scotland has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Business Serving Sport’ category. We were engaged to provide 93 structures covering 36,500 square meters, including several double deck and triple-deck hospitality structures. This also included the Spectator Village complex which incorporated the Merchandise Shop.

This year, the tournament experienced unprecedented demand to attend this historic event, resulting in the highest-ever number of general admission tickets being issued to fans. It is estimated that around 290,000 fans attended the event. As demand for the tickets increased, our customer expanded the amount of space available to fans which represented a delivery of 30 per cent more temporary structures within the same build time.

Managing Director of Arena Structures, Ross Robertson said: “We’re delighted to be recognised for our work.”

“We have a very skilled and dedicated team working extremely hard on every project we deliver; we hold ourselves to high standards and this is reflected in our desires to increase the quality of our project delivery.”
