While Francesco Molinari turned on the golfing magic to win The 147th Open, Arena added its expertise to transform the prestigious Carnoustie course with a range of temporary event infrastructure.

Arena’s project director Mark Shelley oversaw the installation of 26,000sqm of temporary structures to create an incredible range of on course venues. These ranged from Arena’s triple deck Patron’s Club, which hosted the main brand partners, to the Champions Club hospitality running alongside bespoke HSBC and Mastercard structures, to public restaurants, exhibition structures and the expansive official retail outlet in Arena’s I-Novation temporary building.

Arena’s specialist scaffolding, interiors and event furniture divisions contributed to the success of this event, with Mark overseeing the turnkey event logistics at the remote Scottish course.
