Harlequin Arena won the prestigious Best Supplier Award at the Middle East Events and Exhibition Show, held in Dubai.
Harlequin Arena CEO Paul Berger and his team were able to collect the award at the gala dinner after fighting off stiff competition in a very competitive category.
Open to any provider of services/equipment to the exhibitions and event industry with a physical base in the Middle East, the award was aimed at recognising the impact a supplier has had on the event and exhibition sector by supplying excellent service delivery or excellent products.
The award win recognised the work done by the five divisions within Middle East event specialists Harlequin – Structures, Interiors, Furniture, Cooling and Overlay – in supplying bespoke temporary venues at a variety of events and delivering overlay design and management solutions.
Paul Berger said: “We are so proud to have won the Best Supplier Award, which recognises the high quality of our team’s work at the events we’ve supported over the past year.
“I’m thrilled that the magnificent team we have in the Middle East were recognised as the best in the region. We’d also like to thank our clients and suppliers for their support and co-operation.”
Two events in particular were singled out; the ADIPEC Oil & Gas Exhibition and the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
Harlequin Arena has worked with client DMG on ADIPEC since 2012, helping to grow the event. Because there is no venue in the UAE large enough for the exhibition, Harlequin were asked to create an additional 8,400sqm of temporary exhibition space making it the world’s largest oil and gas exhibition. In addition to the exhibition space Harlequin designed and manufactured the Middle East Petroleum Club (MPEC) a key networking space.
Using bold architecture features and contemporary furniture and fittings, the resulting venue had a permanent, bespoke feel. Julie Allen, Operations Director at DMG, commented that the level of quality within MPEC was ‘exceptional’ and that overall Harlequin had delivered ‘unbelievable service’.
At the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship Harlequin Arena marked a new four-year contract to work on the now firmly-established event with client IMG by giving it a spectacular facelift.
With a new more contemporary look for the 18th Championship Pavilion, a revamped Golf Village with a more open plan feel and extensive use of new flooring system Arena Super Deck, the final finish was a credit to the team’s hard work.
