We had the honour of being the official supplier of temporary overlay at the Rugby World Cup 2015, supplying 54 venues around the UK from 18 September to 31 October.

We provided a turnkey design and build service, delivering a wide range of temporary overlay to upgrade all 54 venues, including 13 stadium venues and 41 team bases. Each venue had different requirements for additional elements behind the scenes to cope with the surge in players, media, officials and visitor numbers experienced throughout the games.

The three-story Venue Media Centre located at Twickenham, accommodated 600 international to cover and broadcast the iconic sporting event. The 35m x 25m three-story temporary structure, totaling 2,400m2 of floor space, provided a fully-functioning event media facility with broadband and Wi-Fi capability, press rooms for interviews and media desks.

“The Rugby World Cup is one of the sports calendar’s biggest events and we’ll be drawing on extensive experience within the sporting sector, from our work at one-off events including the London 2012 Olympic Games and 2014 Commonwealth Games, to regular tournaments including the Wimbledon Championships, Ryder Cup and The Open.

“Being split across 50 plus venues creates planning and logistical challenges; however Arena Group has both the skills and experience to ensure these Games are truly world class and we’re excited to be part of the team set to create an unforgettable Rugby World Cup.”
