Arena Announces Pivotal Role Building Demountable Cricket Stadium for T20 World Cup in New York

Milwaukee, Wisc. (March 29, 2024) – Arena, an international event solutions business with an established reputation for quality rental equipment, personalized service, unsurpassed design capabilities, and innovative structures, proudly announces its pivotal role in the construction of a groundbreaking modular cricket stadium for the T20 World Cup in New York. The stadium will mark a significant milestone in temporary stadium infrastructure supply and Arena is honored to be at the forefront of this project.

Leveraging the most extensive inventory available in North America and its commitment to excellence, Arena has been tasked with building an expansive 34,000-seat temporary modular stadium. The venue will include premium grandstands and six interconnected, three-story structures which will feature VIP experiences, corporate clubs, private hospitality, game day operations, broadcast, and more. This stadium is the largest completely demountable activation built around a single field ever delivered in the United States, offering functionality, customized facilities, and streamlined construction delivery.

“The T20 World Cup modular cricket stadium is a perfect example of how Arena continues to redefine what is possible by building a fully functioning, demountable stadium activation that is applicable to any large-scale sporting event globally,” said Martin Blackburn, Director – Seating US at Arena. “With our involvement in this project, we reaffirm our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and innovation in event solutions, solidifying our position as the partner of choice for projects of any size.”

Arena’s involvement with the ICC and T20 began in August 2023 with infrastructure support for the West Indies vs. India Test Matches in Lauderhill, Florida, and will continue through the upcoming T20 World Cup set to be held in New York later this year. Arena will supply multi-story operational and hospitality structures at the Lauderhill, Florida, and Grand Prairie, Texas T20 World Cup venues in addition to the provision of the modular stadium in New York. Looking beyond this year’s World Cup, Arena is looking forward to furthering its partnership with the game of cricket by returning to support the United States’ newest professional sports league, Major League Cricket, for a second season.

“We are thrilled to be part of this project, as it will leave a lasting legacy in cricket and the sports world,” said Will Madison, National Business Development Manager at Arena. “This project underscores Arena’s dedication to innovation in temporary structure and seating solutions, and we are committed to delivering a fully modular stadium that not only showcases our technical expertise but also celebrates sports passion worldwide.”

Arena’s commitment to sustainability is at the forefront of every project, and the reusability of our inventory contributes steadily to creating a positive impact in our industry. Demountable temporary infrastructure is an inherently sustainable option due to its reusability and Arena is pleased to share that much of the inventory that will be used to build this modular stadium has been utilized at iconic events such as the recent PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass and all three domestic F1 Grand Prix races in Miami, Austin and Las Vegas last year. Upon completion of the T20 World Cup, this inventory will once again be disbursed across North America to service Arena’s upcoming projects, including the Presidents Cup, which will be returning to The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada this September and Formula 1’s second iteration of the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November.
